Overview
UAV adds unmanned aircraft to Arma Reforger. It is still being developed.
What works today
- The MQ-1C Gray Eagle prefab can be placed in the World Editor.
- Landing gear, propeller, control surfaces and the sensor turret are separate parts, ready for animation.
- Four missiles hang on the rails under the wings.
- Engine: walk up to the propeller at the rear and use Motor starten to spin it up (and Motor ausschalten to stop it).
Game Master: circling drone
- In the content browser (Vehicles, US) place MQ-1C Gray Eagle (Kreisbahn). A shrunk, transparent drone shows the preview; the facing direction is the direction the drone arrives from.
- Double-click the marker icon and set altitude, circle radius, direction and the maximum loiter time in minutes.
- Switch on Drohne starten. The drone appears far outside, flies to the circle, circles for the set time and leaves. The marker disappears afterwards.
You can change altitude, radius, direction and the remaining time (shown in the loiter field) at any time while the drone is flying: it turns smoothly from its current position onto the new circle and climbs or descends. Once the drone has started to leave, it can no longer be changed.
A small bar under the drone shows the remaining time until it leaves (visible while the editor is open).
Game Master: attack
Select the circling drone and use one of the commands in the command bar:
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
| Ziel angreifen (direkt) | Place the marker on a point, vehicle, soldier or group. The drone turns in from where it is, flies a short straight run and fires between 600 m and 2500 m. The missile flies straight at the target. |
| Ziel angreifen (von oben) | Same run, but the missile climbs, glides and dives steeply onto the target (top attack). |
| Angriff abbrechen | Stops the attack before the drone fires. The drone returns to its circle. |
- The sensor turret lases the target, and the missile follows the laser spot. It leads moving targets and steers until 30 m before impact.
- The attack marker moves with the target and stays until the missile hits.
- The Hellfire has a shaped-charge warhead that also penetrates tank armour (like the vanilla AT rockets).
- A new attack is accepted only after the previous missile has hit.
A small icon next to the fuel bar shows what the drone is busy with. The attack buttons are greyed out while the icon is shown.
| Icon | Meaning | Can be cancelled |
|---|---|---|
| yellow | acquiring a laser spot (laser on call) | yes |
| orange | attack run, not fired yet | yes |
| red | missile in flight | no |
Laser on call
In the drone marker dialog the Game Master can let players on the ground call the drone:
| Setting | Default | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| Laser auf Abruf | off | Switches laser on call on |
| Laser-Code Ziffer 1–4 | 1688 | Four-digit laser code, each digit 1–8 |
| Erfassungszeit [s] | 10 | How long a player has to lase the target |
| Abruf: Angriff von oben | off | Flight profile of the called attack |
When a player lases a target with that code for long enough, within 3 km of the circle, the drone attacks on its own and the missile follows the player's laser. This needs the SOFLAM Integration Core and the bridge addon UAV SOFLAM; without them these settings are greyed out.
What is planned
- Flight model and control from a ground control station.
- Linking drone and terminal over radio frequencies: set the frequency on the drone before takeoff and on the terminal, then connect.
- Further drone types.
The mod is still being developed. Features and prefab names can still change.
